The Sheila Cronan Fund

Lauren Terry age 12 received funding to attend a Schutzhund Seminar at Dutch East and Later obtained her SchH BH with her dog Anika Casa de Mandingo's at NAWBA 2010

 

A number of years ago NAWBA recieved a generous bequest from Shelia Cronan.  We have now formalized criteria for the use of the funds consistent with her wishes.

The purpose of the Sheila Cronan Fund is to provide support to youth and first-time individuals beginning in the sport of Schutzhund.

 The Funds provides scholarship monies to attend Schutzhund training seminars and or entry fees for BH or SchH 1 class in a trial.  Awards will be limited to no more than $200.00. All awards shall be based upon availability of funds.

The Fund Committee shall review each request and make recommendation to the NAWBA Board of Directors which has the authority to approve or deny a request.

Applicants must be a NAWBA member in good standing or the child/dependant of a member in good standing.  Applicants must own and be working a Bouvier and the award must be for training that particular bouvier.  Youth is defined as a child/dependent of a member 18 years of age or younger.  Dogs being handled by a youth may be owned by the parent.  Individuals who have titled a dog in Schutzhund or IPO are not eligible.

 Aproved Grants will be paid upon completion of the seminar or trial and submittal of proof of attendance and fees paid.  Individuals can apply no more than two times.

NAWBA shall award to each Sheila Cronan Fund recipient that obtains thier first Schutzhund 1 title a one year membership in NAWBA, advertisement of the win in the NAWBA Journal, and a Certificate of Accomplishment
